本種は鳥取、愛媛、鹿児島のイネ科から記載され、中国からも記録されている。最近、栃木県のイネ科から採集されている。H. cephalicaによく似るが、腹部第9節がやや短いことで識別できる。オスは未知。

This species was described from Poaceae of Honshu (Tottori), Shikoku (Ehime) and Kyushu (Kagoshima) and is also recorded from China. It is very similar to H. cephalica but can be distinguished from the latter species by shorter abdominal segment IX. Male is unknown.
